Vivanco becomes the setting for the next episode of "MasterChef".

On Monday 18 May, at 22.05, the weekly appointment with "MasterChef" returns on RTVE's La 1. The phrase "Yes, chef!", so familiar in homes in Spain and other parts of the world, will resound in the various facilities of Bodegas Vivanco and the Museum Vivanco of Wine Culture, a wine tourism project born from the passion of the family Vivanco and their desire to disseminate and share the Culture of Wine. The judges of "MasterChef" will prepare an unprecedented challenge in our country: the candidates, after more than a month of working together and with certain discrepancies when working as a team, will find in this winemaking environment the inspiration and peace of mind to work in teams at the cooker.

"MasterChef" travels to various places in La Rioja, the birthplace of Castilian, the second most spoken language in the world. The contestants will discover the gastronomic riches of this wine-growing region, which has more than 60,000 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of grapes. A journey to remind each candidate that, without tradition, there is no such thing as avant-garde. A certainty that both teams will undoubtedly need: one of them will cook a menu based on classic recipes from the area and the other will transfer the same menu to haute cuisine. Both have been designed by Pepe Rodríguez Rey and Jordi Cruz, respectively.

Following the traditional "MasterChef" format, wine lovers and gastronomy experts will enjoy these creations. Chef Ignacio Echapresto (one Michelin star for Venta Moncalvillo) will give them valuable tips on how to successfully blend local gastronomy.

A unique outdoor test, within the incomparable setting of the facilities that the family Vivanco has developed in Briones, with its Museum, considered the best in the world by the World Tourism Organisation, with its winery and its malolactic and elaboration rooms in French oak vats, and surrounded by its own vineyards, which will serve as the setting for the development of the cooking tests.

Before the outdoor test that takes place in La Rioja, MasterChef will present a culinary challenge that is not easy: crusted sea bass with choron sauce, a legendary dish by French chef Paul Bocuse, considered the best French chef in history, creator of nouvelle cuisine and the soul of the phrase "cuisine is peace in the world". The chef Luis Valls (two Michelin stars) will be in charge of presenting the contestants with this spectacular dish, which will have an extra garnish: the actress Yolanda Ramos, a participant in the latest edition of "MasterChef Celebrity", will accompany one of them to prepare this delicacy.

A complex challenge, as it is a complex dish, once innovative and groundbreaking thanks to the daring of "Monseur". In the elimination test, the contestants will first cook a free-form dish in 45 minutes using at least four cooking techniques: marinating, confit, emulsifying, marinating, poaching, flambéing, nitrogenating, osmotising, pressing or steaming. Those who do not pass will go on to a second challenge, which will consist of preparing a free-form dish in 45 minutes. They will have to use three of these techniques, which must be the same for everyone: smoking, gelling, marinating or gassing. Teresa, finalist of "MasterChef 7", will support them in this decisive challenge.
