Ways of Telling the Wine Culture Programme of Vivanco with Meritxell Falgueras

At Vivanco we are committed to the dissemination of Wine Culture in all its forms. As part of our vocation to share this culture in its most diverse fields: history, literature, plastic art, research, education... today we are pleased to take a small step forward. We do so through Maneras de contar la Cultura del Vino, a project that aims to make the world of wine a little more accessible to all audiences. To do this, we have resorted to the video format, developing a regular section in which we will have experts in various disciplines and professionals from different sectors, who will share their vision of wine with us. Journalists, researchers, historians, tourism professionals, writers... who will teach us how to approach the world of wine from a different perspective, sharing with us experiences, curiosities, stories and tips with which to learn to enjoy wine a little more.

As a sample of the project, there is nothing better than enjoying the first two issues of Maneras de contar la Cultura del Vino, which can already be seen on our Youtube channel. In these first two issues, we have had the collaboration of Meritxell Falgueras. A sommelier, wine journalist, researcher and writer, Meritxell is, above all, a wine lover. Something that is also reflected in her blog Wines and the City. Therefore, there is no one better than her to present this new video-section through its first two chapters in which Meritxell will share with us her passion for the world of wine.

In the first of the instalments of Ways of telling the story of Wine Culture, entitled How to order wine in a restaurant, Meritxell will give us some tips on how to choose the right wine in a restaurant. This moment, a little awkward for the most inexperienced, is accompanied by a protocol that can confuse us a little if we are unfamiliar with it. For this reason, Meritxell offers us some very simple keys with which we will be able to choose the perfect wine for each occasion without fear of making a mistake: why we should smell the cork of the bottle, why we should always taste the wine, how to pair the wine with the dishes we are going to taste, etc.

In the second issue of this video-section, 7 things you shouldn't do with wine, the most casual Meritxell will tell us, this time with a touch of humour, about some of the practices we should avoid when we are about to taste a wine. The price, the vintage, and even the perfume we are wearing can alter our perception of a wine during the tasting. By avoiding these 7 bad practices that Meritxell suggests, we will be able to enjoy wine more intensely.

If you liked these first two videos of Ways of Telling the Wine Culture and you want to know more stories like these, and discover and learn more interesting things about the world of wine in a fun way, don't hesitate to Subscribe to our Youtube channelFollow us on our social networks and find out about the launch of each new instalment of Ways of Telling about Wine Culture!
