If there is one thing that is usually a headache when you start a trip, it is, without a doubt, the fact that you have to pack your bags, packing your luggage. No matter how much we have travelled or are used to doing so, when the time comes, there is usually also the nervousness associated with the idea of leaving something behind or carrying too much luggage for just a few days.
To avoid that anxious situation and to make this process easier, here's a list of things you shouldn't miss should not be missing in your suitcase for any good trip..
- Documentation. First and foremost, make sure you have all your personal documentation, including accommodation bookings, flight reservations, etc.
- In addition, it is always advisable to carry a copy of your of your documentation and reservations in the cloud, to avoid problems in case you lose the originals.
- Although it's not exactly a material thing, don't forget to travel with good travel insurance - essential for risk-free travel.
- The first-aid kit, that great ally that you will turn to whenever you feel unwell and that will be your salvation, is another of the things that should not be missing in your suitcase for any good trip.
- Clothing appropriate to the destination you are travelling to. Here, no just in case 😉
- A mackintosh or windbreakers never go amiss, especially if you're travelling somewhere with a high probability of rain.
- A foulard can become your best ally: scarf, over your shoulders to enter a temple, as a towel for the beach...
- Comfortable shoe. There's nothing worse than sore feet on a journey.
- It never hurts to carry a spare sandal or shoe. This is where the just in case.
- Wear clothes that match in colour. This will save you a lot of extra clothes, as you can match everything with everything else.
- If you like accessories, try to wear them neutral, as with clothes, to avoid wearing too many pieces.
- Electronic devices: telephone, laptop, camera...
- Chargers. Yes, believe it or not, it's not the first time you've carried your laptop and when you get to your destination, you've forgotten your charger.
- Adapters if needed at the destination.
- Adapter with USB. This is the best invention especially when there are not many sockets in the room.
- If you like to take photos, there's nothing better than carrying a hard drive on which you can keep a backup copy of the best moments of your trip.
- A book, either in paper or electronic format. It's definitely the best way to pass the hours spent waiting at the airport.
- Toilet bag. Including everything necessary for hygiene and personal care.
- Microfibre towel. It may seem like an unnecessary extra, but we assure you that when the time comes, having a small towel at hand, which doesn't take up any space, can be very useful.
- Pyjamas. Although it may not seem like it, it is one of the items of clothing that we tend to forget the most when we travel. when we go on a trip.
- Zippered bags for storing dirty, wet clothes or even things that should not get wet.
- Cash and several cards. You never know when you might need them.
- Although we are firm advocates of local cuisine, we must confess that, when the time comes, it never hurts to reserve a space in our suitcase for a small snack (chocolates or biscuits). They will help us to kill our hunger at some point during our trip.
- Once you have your luggage packed, check it! We assure you that this will eliminate at least 20% of your suitcase and leave out what you are not going to use.
- A desire to enjoy yourself! That's the most important thing you can pack in your suitcase and that will ensure that your trip is a GREAT trip!
