grape harvest
In the second week of October, each variety is harvested by hand in small boxes and separately. All the grapes remain in cold storage for 24 hours before being processed on the sorting table.
Varieties
75% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha tinta and 5% Garnacha blanca.
Vineyards
Selection of vineyards from the terroir of Briones, Rioja Alta, with a marked Atlantic influence.
elaboration
Made by the traditional method of bleeding. The must obtained from the crushing of red grapes remains in contact with the skins for between 12 and 24 hours at a temperature of 8 ºC. After this maceration, it is bled into another tank where it ferments at a controlled temperature (14-16 ºC) to preserve all the aromatic complexity of the two varieties.
IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF CLARET
For the second time since our launch on the market, we have added a white variety to our usual blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha. This innovation, through the incorporation of Garnacha blanca, allows us to get closer to the Rioja wine culture and to one wine in particular, claret. These wines are made mainly with white grapes and a minimum percentage of red grapes. The result is a more refreshing and paler wine. With the addition of Garnacha blanca, we achieve many of these attributes and turn our rosé into a unique wine.
AGEING ON LEES
Once the wine and the coupage have been made, the resulting wine remains in a stainless steel tank on its lees for at least three months. This ageing gives the wine more body and fat, making it much more pleasant.
THE BOTTLE
Our bottle is inspired by an original 18th century bottle that can be visited at the Vivanco Museum of Wine Culture.
THE LABEL
The work Sucus, by Laura Martín Calleja, illustrates the label of this vintage of our Vivanco rosé. This piece, which expresses the fresh red fruit of our wine, has been selected among the participants in the XII Edition of the Pedro Vivanco International Print and Wine Award.
TASTING NOTE
Bright, lively pink colour with violet reflections. On the nose, it presents aromas of red liquorice, raspberries, strawberries, all surrounded by a floral component of roses and violets. In the mouth it is fresh and unctuous, offering a balanced acidity and a fruity and sweet finish.
SERVICE AND PAIRING
Serve at a temperature of between 8 and 10 °C. Ideal for drinking by the glass as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to all kinds of tapas. It is a good choice to enjoy with vegetable dishes, barbecues, all kinds of salads, white meats, cold creams, pasta and all kinds of charcuterie.
